You Cannot Heal While You Are Performing

IMG_4154.JPG

A lot of people are exhausted because they are performing their way through life. Performing wellness. Performing strength. Performing positivity. Performing “I’m fine.” Performing the role of the one who holds it all together. Healing requires honesty. Not brutal honesty, but gentle truth. Where are you pretending? Where are you pushing? Where are you trying to be the version of you that everyone expects? The nervous system cannot relax when it is acting. The body cannot soften when it feels it has to earn love. The heart cannot open when it expects judgment. Sometimes the performance is so automatic you don’t even notice it until you stop. And when you stop, there can be a wave of emotion. That does not mean you are falling apart. It means you are finally letting your system speak. You are allowed to be real. You are allowed to be messy. You are allowed to be in process. The more you let yourself be authentic, the more energy you recover. And that energy becomes your life force again.
